New Jersey Association for Food Protection Scholarship
Each year, the NJAFP Executive Board issues scholarships to deserving undergraduate or graduate students. Scholarships are awarded to full or part-time graduate or undergraduate NJAFP members enrolled in a college or university where they physically attends classes. Students will typically have declared a major in one of the following fields: Agricultural Sciences, Biology, Environmental Health, Environmental Sciences, Food Defense, Food Safety, Food Science, Microbiology, Nutritional Sciences or Public Health. Other majors that include food protection in their curriculum will be considered.
Awards are based upon academic merit and workplace experience as determined by the NJAFP Scholarship Committee. A student’s financial need will also be considered in selecting a recipient.
Please submit:
- The Application Form
- 1-2 page essay on food protection and why it is your chosen field of study
- Copy of your transcript
- Half page statement describing your financial need
